Five Months and Leading Up to SIX Months!

My Dearest Evan,

You are growing so fast, I don't know what to do. You're a happy, observant little baby that doesn't make a whole lot of noise. You don't laugh all that much but you don't cry all that much either. You wake up in your crib and just lift your head to watch the door until we come in. You grin a whole lot and it's so cute - toothless and all. But, oh, when you laugh - it's got to be the cutest thing on the face of this earth. When you laugh, because it doesn't happen often, my whole world stops.....all I want is to keep it going for as long as possible. One thing that gets you laughing more often than not is when I give you a raspberry on your belly while giggling it from underneath - you love that!

You're growing so fast now. You can roll front to back and back to front just fine and lifting your head is no problem. You're using it to roll across the room and I can see the desire to crawl already - you want to get moving and sometimes get frustrated that you can't. Still no teeth - Avery had teeth at this age but I read that the average is seven months and even then, it could be 12 months! You're about 20 lbs (will find out Wednesday when I take you to your appointment) and between 26 and 27 inches long.

Pop came to visit you and meet you for the first time earlier this month. We took you for your first swim - it was great - you were stiff when I first got you in but you relaxed so much that you started to fall asleep so I had to pull you out of there! I think the first time in the chlorine caused a clogged duct in your eye - we had to take you to the doctor and get eye drops and amoxicillin. The doctor said it was a good thing we caught it early because you might have needed hospitalization! Good thing!

Here's your life in pictures right now (sorry if there is an overlap with the last post - I don't know what happened but some pics got mixed):

And finally, here are some pics with Pop here:

thought you were teething the whole time but still nothing...

I call him the baby whisperer - he really knew how to calm you down and make you happy - you were starting to get grouchy about your eye

Avery stealing the attention - she's so fun to watch!

Evan, you're the easiest baby. You usually go with the flow and are so quietly taking in everything. I even lay you down in your bed wide awake and you just know what to do - you just turn to the side and fall asleep. It's amazing. I must admit, though, it does have me wanting to hold you for a little while longer when you do fall asleep in my arms....

All my love,
Mom

New Year, New Adventures!
