Spring 2022!

 My Dearest Evan,

How in the world are we already done with a year of preschool?! That went way too fast for me! After family visited over spring break, we had a great Easter where the Easter Bunny brought you some fun things for Hawaii (like a snorkel) and you finished out the soccer season strong, supporting your team and learning more fundamentals. You also helped Avery celebrate her 8th birthday with a Parents Say Yes day.

Most recently, we went straight from the end of school to Roswell to celebrate Greg graduating high school. We also went to a few National Parks and celebrated MaryJune's 6th birthday with her! Then we trekked up to Denver to meet up with Grandma Dotty and Pop and Aunt Cara's family to take over Denver for about a week! On the way back, we stopped in Santa Fe to do Meow Wolf which you really loved and we headed home. A few days later you went back out with Dad and Avery to a cabin in New Mexico to vacation with Dad's side of the family.

You've been really good in the car for all the long hauls so far. You like Batman a lot right now, better than all of the other super heros. And Dad just told me that while you were at the cabin, you didn't wear a diaper to bed and you did just fine! Now that's a great milestone! You still like to suck your thumb but we're actively working on it with you. You love my tickles but hate my kisses. You love love love playing with your big sister (and really anyone in the house but especially Avery). You love your transformers and the ogre game and your favorite book to bring me to read is the "Can You Spot It?" book.

At Carlsbad Caverns you were telling me how Batman and all of his friends (his dad, Robin, the Joker, etc) live in that cave. When I asked you where Batman's mom lived you told me she lives at work :( You broke my heart, kid.

Here is your life in pictures right now....

We still take walks every weekend but it's getting hotter and hotter - gotta keep getting up early to go! This was good practice for all the walking we did in Denver!

Evan, we've had so much fun lately and plenty more to come in the very very near future! I love how you still talk like a toddler (I know that will go away very soon) and you've been growing and growing taller and taller. You're learning more and more about your emotions and how they relate to being hungry or tired. I love every second I get to spend with you.

All My Love,
Mom
