My Dearest Evan,
You're nonstop changing right now, my sweet boy. You're talking SO MUCH and learning whatever words we put in front of you. You actually even repeat Avery's sight words with her when she's doing her homework! In terms of growth, you're also enjoying climbing (much to my dismay) and walking fast to escape my reach and anything I say no to.
You actually went to timeout once when I told Avery to go, so I know you understand what it is and we've used it more and more on you since then. You like going and then just smiling and running out of the corner, using your smile to get you out of jail....and it works, sometimes. You hit me.....only me.....not dad. And that breaks my heart but you go to timeout for that too. You actually have a hard time with me right now - you don't like me picking you up from daycare and you don't like me doing things with you/for you when dad's around. You definitely prefer him right now.
Since the last post, you've gone on a trip to San Diego for the fourth of July and you've had your first soccer lesson (which didn't go all that well but that's ok). And everyone says they love the way you command a room when you enter it. You honestly walk in like you own the place and everyone should thank you for being there....which may be a result of us enjoying your presence at home? -- I'm not sure :) At any rate, you own the place!

Evan, you're the best! I wish you liked me more but I'm trying to give you your space (not easy to do as a doting mother). You've entered what was one of my favorite age ranges for Avery so I'm SO looking forward to what's to come!
